Governors from Anambra, Ebonyi, Enugu, and Imo states have urged voters to support President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 election, despite internal political tensions. A political group, the Renewed Hope Foot Soldiers for Tinubu, has raised concerns about the ongoing crisis within the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Imo State. The group warned that unresolved issues could negatively impact Tinubu’s chances in the South-East region.
The governors made their appeal during the APC Women Mega Rally and Empowerment Programme for the South-East. They emphasized the importance of unity and urged voters to avoid political distractions. Meanwhile, the APC in Osun State has launched a large-scale door-to-door canvassing effort, mobilizing 10,000 members to support Tinubu’s re-election. The initiative involves key political figures including Adegboyega Oyetola and Governor Ademola Adeleke.
In Bayelsa State, a clash has erupted between the People's Democratic Party (PDP) and the APC over support for Tinubu. The disagreement centers on the endorsement of Governor Timipre Sylva by former governor Mallam Musa Diri. The APC has dismissed the claim, highlighting the growing political tensions across different states.
These developments underscore the challenges facing the APC as it prepares for the 2027 election. Internal divisions and regional political dynamics are shaping the campaign landscape, with leaders striving to maintain cohesion and voter support. The upcoming election will likely be influenced by these ongoing political struggles.
