Atiku’s campaign team has announced plans to conduct a nationwide campaign across all Nigerian states in preparation for the 2027 presidential election. The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has emphasized the need to address regional concerns by ensuring equal attention is given to all parts of the country.
Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu, Bayo Onanuga, stated that Atiku’s campaign aims to reverse perceived national decline by focusing on comprehensive development. The ADC’s strategic communication director, Phrank Shaibu, confirmed that the campaign will include visits to all states, countering claims that the focus would be limited to northern regions.
This approach follows recent political shifts in Nigeria, where opposition leaders have sought to broaden their appeal beyond traditional strongholds. The 2027 election is expected to be a key moment in Nigerian politics, with multiple parties vying for influence in a country still navigating economic and social challenges.
The ADC’s decision reflects growing competition in the political landscape, as candidates seek to build broader support bases. With the next election cycle approaching, the focus on inclusivity and regional balance signals a strategic shift in campaign tactics.
