President Bola Tinubu's re-election campaign for 2027 has gained traction as key opposition parties reportedly support his bid. The All Progressives Congress (APC) claims that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), and Accord Party are backing Tinubu's re-election, with promises of an issue-based campaign focused on delivery records.

Former PDP National Chairman, Chief Olabode George, has raised concerns about the erosion of democratic balance in Nigeria. In an open letter to Tinubu, George warned that the current political climate signals a system under stress, potentially leading to a rupture. He emphasized the need for credible opposition to sustain democracy.

Tinubu's campaign has also received backing from influential figures in northern Nigeria. Senator Abdul'aziz Yari, Director General of the APC Presidential Campaign Council, assured Tinubu of strong support from traditional rulers, Emirs, and Islamic clerics. Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani also pledged that northern voters will reward Tinubu's administration with their votes.

The Tinubu administration has been praised for achieving significant milestones, according to his media aide, MR Abdulaziz Abdulaziz. The APC organized a campaign rally in Kaduna where Tinubu officially launched his re-election bid.

The political landscape in Nigeria continues to shift, with Tinubu's re-election prospects growing despite warnings from opposition leaders about the risks to democratic stability.
