The Nigerian Navy has commissioned a new patrol vessel, the SSV-KALI 3, in Delta State. The vessel was unveiled during an inauguration ceremony led by Vice Admiral Idi Abbas, Chief of the Naval Staff.

The commissioning marks a key step in enhancing maritime security, which the navy claims is vital for attracting private investment and safeguarding critical infrastructure. Vice Admiral Abbas emphasized the role of strategic security in supporting Nigeria’s economic growth.

This initiative follows recent efforts by the Nigerian government to improve maritime safety and combat illegal activities in Nigerian waters. The new vessel is part of a broader strategy to protect energy infrastructure and promote economic stability. The navy has also highlighted the importance of collaboration with private sector stakeholders to ensure long-term security and development.
