Cloudy skies and scattered rains are expected in parts of the Visayas and Mindanao on Sunday, October 4, due to the trough of Typhoon Choi-wan. The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) reported that the weather pattern is influenced by the typhoon’s extension outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility.
The affected regions include Western Visayas and Mindanao, where residents may experience thunderstorms and light rainfall. Pagasa noted that the trough is not directly impacting the country but is contributing to the weather conditions. The agency advised people in the affected areas to remain alert and prepare for possible weather changes.
Typhoon Choi-wan formed in the Northwest Pacific and has been moving toward the East China Sea. While it is not expected to make landfall in the Philippines, its influence is causing atmospheric changes that affect local weather. This is the second typhoon to impact the region this month, following Typhoon Kompasu.
The weather service continues to monitor the typhoon’s movement and its potential effects on regional weather patterns. No immediate danger is expected, but the situation remains under observation.
