A landslide in Cebu City, Philippines, on Friday, October 9, killed a grandmother and her two grandchildren. The incident occurred in Barangay Pulangbato when a landslide buried the family’s house shortly after noon. The victims were identified as a 60-year-old woman and her two grandchildren, aged 5 and 6.
Rescuers recovered the bodies of the victims from the site in Sitio Kandarong Riverside. The grandmother was found dead at around 5:43 p.M. Completing the recovery operation. Three of the four victims, including the two children, were already recovered earlier. The landslide struck as the family was eating lunch.
This is the second landslide in the area this month. Authorities have evacuated nearby residents to prevent further casualties. The incident highlights the ongoing risk of landslides in the region, particularly during the rainy season. Local officials are investigating the cause of the landslide and assessing the damage to the affected area.
