Governor Monday Okpebholo played a key role in uniting the APC in Osun State, setting the stage for the 2026 governorship election. His efforts aimed to bring clarity and direction to the party as it faced internal rivalries.
The APC has also launched its 2027 presidential campaign, with the formal inauguration set for October 14 and the campaign officially starting in Kaduna on October 24. The party’s Director-General, Senator Abdulaziz Yari, confirmed this after meeting with President Bola Tinubu. The campaign will focus on re-electing Tinubu as Nigeria’s leader.
In addition, the APC has called on Peter Obi to honor his pledge to step down from the 2027 race. The party criticized Obi’s claim of winning the 2023 election without evidence, calling it a “troubling display of delusion.” The APC also demanded that INEC enforce a Supreme Court ruling on the use of membership registers for party activities ahead of the 2027 polls.
The party has been actively rallying support in various regions, including Bayelsa, where Dr. Kojo Sam led a two-day campaign tour. These efforts highlight the APC’s strategy to consolidate support and prepare for the upcoming elections. The party’s focus remains on maintaining unity and ensuring a clear path for Tinubu’s re-election bid.
