Pakistan has announced a new fee schedule for e-passport applications, effective from August 1, 2026. The changes include adjustments to the cost of issuing and renewing e-passports. The updated schedule aims to align with international standards and improve administrative efficiency.
The new fees vary depending on the type of passport and the applicant’s category. For instance, the fee for a standard e-passport for adults has increased by 500 Pakistani rupees, while the fee for a child’s e-passport has risen by 300 rupees. The government stated that the changes are part of broader reforms to modernize immigration processes.
This update follows recent efforts by the Pakistani government to digitize public services and enhance border management. Officials have emphasized that the new fee structure will help streamline procedures and reduce processing times. The changes also reflect ongoing discussions with international partners on passport standards and security protocols.
