A Learjet crashed in Palm Beach County, Florida, killing all nine people on board. The NTSB is investigating the incident, which occurred during a flight from Austin, Texas, to the Bahamas.

The aircraft, a Learjet 60, nosedived and crashed under extreme weather conditions. Temperatures reached -50 degrees Fahrenheit, causing ice buildup and heavy turbulence. Authorities confirmed the plane lost control and crashed shortly after takeoff.

Among the victims was Nathalia Gadelha Filgueiras, 20, the co-pilot. Her family identified her after the crash. A chilling audio recording captured the pilot’s final moments, with crew members exchanging urgent messages.

A text message sent by the co-pilot to her boyfriend moments before the crash read “We’re out of time.” The message, along with the audio, has raised questions about the flight’s final moments.

This is the second fatal crash involving a Learjet 60 in Florida this year. The NTSB is examining whether ice accumulation or pilot error contributed to the loss of control. No official cause has been determined.
