A Learjet 60 crashed in Palm Beach County, Florida, on 1 November 2025, killing all nine people on board. The National Transportation Safety Board is investigating the incident.

The aircraft was flying from Austin, Texas, to the Bahamas when it crashed. The plane encountered severe weather conditions, including temperatures of -50 degrees Fahrenheit, which caused ice buildup and heavy turbulence. The NTSB reported that the jet may have experienced “some breakup” before impact.

Pilot Nathalia Gadelha Filgueiras, 20, was identified as the co-pilot. Family members recognized her after the crash. A six-word text message sent to her boyfriend by the co-pilot before the crash was shared. The message read, “We’re out of time.”

Audio from the crash captured the pilot’s final words, with the crew exchanging messages minutes before the plane crashed. The NTSB is examining whether the co-pilot played a role in the incident.

This crash marks the second fatal aviation incident in Florida this year. The NTSB is expected to release a full report in the coming weeks. The agency is also looking into the flight’s operational details and the conditions that led to the crash.
