Ukrainian officials condemned a recent agreement between US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin to supply Russian diesel fuel to the United States. The deal, which Trump announced as a way to secure energy supplies, was criticized by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, who warned it would provide Russia with additional funding to continue its military operations.

The agreement includes immediate deliveries of over 300,000 tonnes of diesel fuel from Russia to the US, with additional shipments planned for November and beyond. Trump claimed the deal would benefit both nations by stabilizing global markets. However, Ukrainian officials argue that the fuel will be used to finance Russia’s ongoing war in Ukraine, exacerbating the humanitarian and military crisis.

The announcement of the deal came just a day before Russian strikes killed at least 15 people in the Zaporizhzhia region. Ukrainian officials reported that three children were among the casualties, with at least 16 others injured. The attack occurred as Russia intensifies its military operations, leading to a sharp rise in civilian casualties.

Germany and other European nations have expressed concern over the deal, with Germany reaffirming its commitment to imposing new sanctions on Russia. Despite the US-Russia agreement, diplomatic efforts continue, with officials from the US, Ukraine, and Europe meeting in Miami to seek a resolution to the conflict.

The situation highlights the growing tensions between the US and its European allies, as well as the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Ukraine. The diesel deal remains a point of contention, with Ukrainian leaders urging the international community to take action to prevent further escalation.
