Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State announced that more than 300 schools and 150 primary healthcare centers closed due to insecurity have reopened. The governor credited President Bola Tinubu’s administration for the development. The announcement came during the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential campaign flag-off in Kaduna on Saturday.

President Tinubu arrived in Kaduna ahead of the event, joined by Vice President Kashim Shettima and his wife, Nana. The campaign rally took place at Ranchers Bees Stadium, where Sani highlighted the government’s efforts to restore normalcy in the state. The reopening of schools and health centers was presented as a key achievement of Tinubu’s leadership.

The APC’s 2027 presidential campaign is part of the party’s strategy to consolidate support ahead of the general elections. Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has also tasked APC candidates with promoting Tinubu’s candidacy in local government elections. The party chairman warned of sanctions for candidates who fail to participate.

The campaign in Kaduna comes amid heightened security measures. A recent report suggested that some members of the Atiku campaign were plotting to disrupt the rally. Despite these challenges, Tinubu’s presence in Kaduna signals a strong push to strengthen his political base.

The reopening of schools in Kaduna follows months of instability linked to insecurity. The government has been working to improve security and restore public services. The APC’s campaign is seen as a test of its ability to mobilize support in key states ahead of the 2027 elections.
