The Senate impeachment court in the Philippines expressed satisfaction after a recent survey indicated that 51% of Filipinos are willing to accept its ruling on Vice President Sara Duterte’s impeachment trial. The findings came from a Social Weather Stations (SWS) survey conducted between September 21 and 27, 2026. The poll, which covered the nation, showed a clear majority of respondents endorsing the court’s decision.
The same survey also revealed that 26% of Filipinos believe the impeachment process should continue, while 17% remain undecided. The results highlight public sentiment toward the ongoing legal proceedings against Duterte, who is facing charges of graft and corruption. The SWS survey, known for its regular tracking of public opinion, used face-to-face interviews with 1,500 Filipino adults aged 18 and above.
