The MTN Group Foundation and the Gates Foundation have partnered to launch the Nigeria Maternal Health Multiplier, a digital initiative using artificial intelligence to improve maternal health outcomes. The project, set to run until 2030, will focus on enhancing healthcare access and outcomes for 500,000 women in Nigeria.
The initiative will deploy AI-enabled tools to support healthcare workers and improve data collection, analysis, and decision-making in maternal care. These tools are expected to help identify high-risk pregnancies and provide timely interventions. The collaboration aims to address challenges such as limited access to quality healthcare and inadequate medical resources in rural areas.
