This follows recent diplomatic efforts between the US and Iran, which have shown little progress.
Oil prices rose more than 2% on Thursday as uncertainty about a potential US ban on diesel exports increased. Investors remained focused on the stalled negotiations, with Brent crude futures reaching $105.51 a barrel and West Texas Intermediate futures hitting $93.90 a barrel. The economic impact of the ongoing tensions continues to affect global markets.
Tehran has also hinted at retaliation after Georgia and Azerbaijan suspended Iranian flights amid escalating US sanctions on airlines.
