The incident follows a funeral for an Egyptian flight attendant killed in an airstrike on an airport in Riyadh. Dozens attended the service for Azza Ramzi, 28, who worked for Saudi Airlines. The attack also prompted Air India to cancel flights to Riyadh, Dammam, and Jeddah until October 17, 2026, citing security concerns.

The Houthi rebels have escalated their attacks, leading to increased tensions and disruptions in Saudi Arabia. The situation remains volatile, with both sides continuing their military operations.
