Nigerian pensioners have demanded that the government and Pension Fund Administrators (PFA) pay their annuities and pensions while they are still alive. During an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja on Sunday, pensioners expressed their need for the funds to cover basic needs such as food and medical expenses.

The pensioners claimed they have not received their entitled payments despite being active and contributing to the system. Many stated they are struggling to meet daily expenses and are forced to rely on savings or family support. Some mentioned that the delayed payments have led to financial hardship and increased stress.

This issue has been a recurring concern for pensioners in Nigeria. Previous reports indicate that delays in pension disbursements have affected thousands of retirees. The government has faced criticism for inconsistent payment schedules and bureaucratic inefficiencies. Some pensioners have called for urgent reforms to ensure timely and transparent distribution of funds. The situation highlights broader challenges in the country’s social welfare system.
