A flydubai flight from Dubai to Tel Aviv made an emergency landing in Saudi Arabia after a co-pilot allegedly attempted to seize control and crash the aircraft. The incident occurred on Wednesday as the plane approached the Jordanian border, with most passengers being Israeli citizens.

The co-pilot reportedly stabbed another pilot during the confrontation, leading to a rapid descent of over 17,000 feet. Passengers and a crew member intervened to subdue the co-pilot, preventing a potential disaster. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu met one of the passengers involved, describing the individual’s actions as extraordinary.

Netanyahu also praised four Israeli passengers who helped overpower the co-pilot. Israeli President Isaac Herzog announced plans to award them "heroism" honors for their role in the incident. Officials stated the motive behind the attack remains unclear.

The event marks a significant moment in aviation safety, highlighting the role of passengers in emergency situations. It also underscores the ongoing tensions in the region, with recent reports of Israeli military actions in Gaza. The incident has sparked discussions about security protocols on international flights.

This is not the first time Israeli citizens have been involved in such life-saving actions. In a separate incident, an Israeli plumber was credited by Netanyahu for averting a disaster on another flight. These events reflect a pattern of individual heroism amid regional instability.
